Three people are members of a secret society tasked with finding and protecting secret magical objects, ordinary items with extraordinary properties. Member Magda Sparks is sent to investigate rumors of a new object in Hong Kong. Upon arriving, she is confronted by a professional killer who seems to know all about unknowable objects, and about the supposed secret society.
